Except for the red Leica logo on the front, the camera bears no engravings%u00a0at all. The top plate still shows machiningmarks from the production. Prototypes like this were intended for field testing of the cameras without revealing the name or thespecifications. The offered example is in beautiful condition and inperfect working order.298 Leica CL-2 prototype %u20ac8.000*no.000024, c.1994, condition A%u2013 %u20ac 14.000 %u2013 16.000An interesting and extremely rare Leica %u2018CL-2%u2019 prototype from around 1994. While technically a Leica Minilux, Leica considered naming the camera the CL-2 prior to its official release. Notably,the lens is marked %u2018Summicron%u2019 instead of %u2018Summarit,%u2019 as seen in the final production version. Additional unique features include aprototype film back (lacking markings near the knobs), a specialserial number, and the traditional Leica logo on the top plate. The offered camera is in beautiful, near-mint condition and is in perfectworking order. It represents a fascinating piece of Leica history and a rare glimpse into the brand%u2019s developmental process.288 Leitz Speed Meter prototype %u20ac7001970s, condition A%u2013 %u20ac 1.400 %u2013 1.600During the 1970s, Leitz developed a non-contact speed measurement device for vehicles. The set offered here is most likely aprototype of such a system. It includes a photoelectric sensor witha handle, connected to a sound-generating unit. The sensor is equipped with a Leica M-mount and comes with a Summicron-C 2/40 mm lens, serial no. 2745371. The set appears to be in working condition and comes with its original box.
