Body without a serial number, the camera has got a built-in quick film loading system, similar to the one used in the M5 (but not identical), and the screws covering the self-release lever and the frame selector lever alsoresemble the M5 screws. It comes with a modified Summicron 2/50 mm no. 1925719 (the infinity lock professionally removed); research in the Leica Archives revealed that the lens never left the factory and was, most probably, used internally for testing purposes.The camera shows a small hand-engraving on the body shell, %u2018Broschke%u2019%u2014Heinrich Broschke was a prominent engineer at Leitz company and the developer of the Leica M5.105 Leica M4 chrome %u20ac700no. 1272618, 1971, condition A/B %u20ac 1.400 %u2013 1.600Very%u00a0nice chrome M4 in near-mint condition and working order, with Elmar 2.8/50 mm no1934690, optics only showing a light haze, with unusual skylight filter E. Leitz New York.106 Leica M4 black %u201850 Years%u2019 %u20ac2.000Midland no. 101-L, 1975, condition A%u2013 %u20ac 4.000 %u2013 5.000Very rare special edition black Leica M4%u00a0issued to commemorate 50 years of Leica made in Midland, only 350 units made in Canada (1400 produced in Wetzlar), body no. 1412601 engraved with %u2018101-L%u2019 on the back, in%u00a0mint condition and working order, with body cap.107 Leica M4-M black paint First %u20ac6.000*Batch with Leitz New York Motor no. 1185133, 1968, condition A/B %u20ac 12.000 %u2013 14.000A beautiful black paint Leica M4-M from the first batch (nos.1185001-1185150), in near-mint condition, only minimal signs of use, together with an E. Leitz New York motor no. 02468 in used condition and working order, with AA battery pack.108 Leica M4 MOT black paint %u20ac6.000no. 1267231, 1970, condition A%u2013 %u20ac 12.000 %u2013 14.000A%u00a0rare Leica M4 MOT in black paint finish, in beautiful, mint conditionand working order, from a batch issued in 1970 (nos.1206737-1206891), with body cap, a similar camera with the serial number no. 1267219 is shown in James L. Lager %u2018An Illustrated History%u2019 vol.1 Cameras, on p. 234.109 Leica M4-M DA black paint %u20ac12.000no. 1248199, 1970s, condition A%u2013 %u20ac 24.000 %u2013 28.000In the early 1970s E. Leitz Inc. New York manufactured a large number of MDa Mot cameras for use on Zeiss fundus cameras, an unexpected outcome of this cooperation was a number of M4-M and M4-MOT cameras being left without parts necessary for motor use. These Leicas were fitted with a grooved body casting for marker strips%u00a0and sold as%u00a0special black M4s. The offered example of this very rare camera is in beautiful, mint condition and good working order, together%u00a0with an extra matching standard bottom plate, some marker strips and a body cap, a similar camera no. 1248177 can be seen in James L.
