Twenty years later, Zeiss announced their own 35 mm camera and became a direct competitor in the photo market with the introduction of the CONTAX in 1932. Nevertheless, the relation of both companies was always respectful. As a particular example of that, the few cases of direct cooperation can be considered. Zeiss first announced the 15 mm Hologon f/8 as a lens fixed to the body of a modified Contarex camera. From 1972 Zeiss also manufactured it for Leitz in Leica M mount. In the Leitz catalogue, it was offered as %u201cCarl Zeiss Hologon for Leica M%u201d until 1975. The Hologon is a lens with a 110%u00b0 angle of coverage, and almost no distortion, it did show slight vignette, compensated with a special center filter. A large bright-line finder was part of the Hologon outfit as well. The lens was produced in very small numbers only; today, it is very hard to find a complete set in such good condition.153 Elmar-M 3.8/24mm ASPH. 11648 %u20ac800*no. 4082795, 2008, condition A%u2013 %u20ac 1.600 %u2013 1.800Modern wide-angle lens for Leica M, in mint condition, with all papers, accessories and maker%u2019s box.154 Elmarit 2.8/28mm 11801 %u20ac3.0009-element First Batchno. 2063176, 1964, condition A%u2013 %u20ac 6.000 %u2013 7.000Rare first type Elmarit 28 mm with 9-element lens made in Germany, from the very first batch, production starts with no. 2061501, in beautiful, mint condition, black painted infinity lock, good optics only showing discrete cleaning marks, with both caps,%u00a0hood 12501, guarantee card and maker%u2019s box.155 Elmarit 2.8/28mm %u20ac3.000*9-element 11801 no. 2062825, 1964, condition B/A %u20ac 6.000 %u2013 7.000Sought-after, first version Elmarit 28 mm, 9-element in 6 groups, in excellent condition (engravings on the front rim blackened), very good optics, with 28 mm SLOOZ finder and both caps.156 Summaron 3.5/3.5cm SOONC-M %u20ac300no. 1179413, 1954, condition A/B %u20ac 600 %u2013 700Beautiful early lens in almost mint condition, meter scale, optics only showing a light haze and discrete cleaning marks, with front lens cap, IROOA hood (maker%u2019s box) and plastic keeper, delivered to Hamburg on 28.03.1956.Leica M Lenses
