P001, 2012, condition A %u20ac 80.000 %u2013 100.000In celebration of the Republic of China Centennial in 2012, Leica Camera AG produced a limited edition of 100 Leica MP cameras, each finished in grey and engraved with aplum blossom on the top plate. Before finalizing theproduction version, Leica considered a different finish: greyhammertone paint. The offered prototype represents thisearly design direction and is the only known example of its kind. It is presented here in mint, unused condition and includes the camera body no. P001, paired with a matching Summilux-M 1:1.4/35%u2009mm ASPH. lens no.%u20094320373%u2009%u2014%u2009bothbearing the prototype designation N01/N01. Uniquefeatures of this set include the plum blossom engraving on the lens hood and the removable front rim, as well as a smaller, distinct engraving style on the camera%u2019s top plate, not seen on the final production models.
