The lens is engraved with the prototype serial number B747-0004, where B747 denotes the optical formula and 0004the consecutive example within this prototype series. Preservedin excellent condition, the lens is accompanied by its matching prototype lens hood (condition B). A rare experimental lens byErnst Leitz Canada (ELCAN).194 Elcan Summilux-R 1.4/35 mm %u20ac2.000*prototype no.0001307, 1980s, condition A%u2013 %u20ac 4.000 %u2013 5.000Very rare prototype Elcan-R lens head for Summilux 35 mm, designed by Dr. Walter Mandler, in mint%u00a0condition, with%u00a0some cleaning mark,%u00a0optical formula B789.195 Apo-Elmarit-R 2.8/100 mm %u20ac3.000*prototype no. 5175934, c.1985, condition A/B %u20ac 6.000 %u2013 7.000A unique prototype APO-Elmarit-R 100 mm, which later evolved into the series-production APO-Macro-Elmarit-R 100 mm. While the lens already closely resembles the final production version, it exhibits several distinctive prototype features and differences, including the shape of the focusing ring and the dimensions of the built-in lens hood. The lens is preserved in excellent condition. An important and highly rare Leica prototype, offering a rare insight into the development process of one of Leica%u2019s finest'macro lenses.196 Elmar-R 4/180 mm %u20ac800*chrome finish no. 2817815, 1977, condition A/B %u20ac 1.600 %u2013 1.800An interesting Elmarit-R in unusual shiny chrome finish, possibly made to order or as a sample, in beautiful condition.
